What is NONI?
| | | | |
|
Noni is the common name for Morinda citrifolia, a tropical plant that grows abundantly on the uncontaminated islands of Tahiti. For 2000 years, Tahitian people enhenced their health by drinking the juice of the Noni fruit. Mordern scientists were impressed with the efficacy of the fruit.
Dr. Ralph Heinicke, a renowned scientist and biochemist, discovered the ingredient which is active in Noni. After many years of research, he eventually identified this ingredient as a new alkaloid to which he gave the name "xeronine." Next, he developed the techniques to isolate xeronine from the Noni fruit. The technique worked! Not only was he able to isolate the xeronine compound from Noni fruit, but the yields of proxeronine, the precursor to xeronine, were abundant. Today Noni is the only raw materials to use for the isolation of xeronine. *
Dr. Heinicke and other researchers since have discovered xeronine to be an essential element for human health, because it is required for proper cellular communication and protein structure.

Noni was introduced by a friend to two well-known food scientists, Stephen Story and John Wadsworth in 1993. Stephen and John began to learn all they could about this plant.
Steve and John began sharing this unique juice with family and friends. The results were astounding. Appreciating the importance of their discovery, they began to develop a process of harvesting, processing and flavoring the Morinda citrifolia juice to enable them to bring it to the market.
A few years later, Stephen and John were introduced to several individuals who instantly recognized the vast opportunity presented them. They began to formulate a plan to found a very unique company whose only mission would be to bring to the world the important secrets of the Morinda citrifolia plant.
The name of the company is simply Morinda (now Tahitian Noni International). Together, this dream team, as some have called it, has put in place a company truly worthy of the product that is at the heart of the entire process.
